Angry Boys

Daniel and Nathan Sims, identical twins from Dunt (as seen in We Can Be Heroes) are back.

Meet, Jen Okazaki, a softly spoken Japanese wife and mother of three. She is also an ambitious tyrant. Her primary focus is her son Tim, who she trained and pushed into becoming a skateboarding champion.

Filmed in various locations within Australia, the U.S. and Japan over seven months and edited for an entire year, writer/performer/director Chris Lilley amps up his acutely observed character-based documentary-comedy style mastered in his two acclaimed series We Can Be Heroes and Summer Heights High, to create his new 12-part series Angry Boys with long time producing partner Laura Waters (Princess Pictures).

Angry Boys is bigger in every way than the two previous series. With three broadcasters in three different countries, this time with the addition of HBO as a co-producer, the ABC, and a pre-sale to the BBC, it was the first time in Australia that a partnership of this magnitude had been made to acquire a show. It means that Angry Boys will be seen across the globe within weeks of its Aussie premiere on ABC1.

More than 3500 people were auditioned for roles, both actors and non-actors from Australia and abroad to find a wide range of looks, attitudes, races and ages for 89 main roles and 1228 extras. More than 850 scenes were lit and shot over the duration of filming in over 70 locations.
