KAYLA KRYSTIN INTERVIEW
How would you describe your music?
I would say it's pop dance with a touch of country and rock
Can you tell us about your new song, what was the inspiration?
It's basically about a situation that I think many of us girls, or guys, can relate to.... You're having a good night at a bar with your friends and then you notice someone staring at you, wanting more, but you want nothing to do with it, in that moment!
What are your muscial influences?
I'd say country music is what influences me most. It's what fuels my heart and soul musically! Shania Twain and Lady Gaga are two artists I always have on repeat!

Do you prefer performing live or recording?
Personally, performing live gives me the best feeling I could ever ask for! Although being in the studio is very different to performing live, I love my time in the studio too, being creative and coming up with new ideas.

Can you tell us about your new show?
It's going to be a great show; quick-moving, fast beats, amazing dancers. Something you won't want to miss! I've been working so hard on creating something great for you and I can't wait to get out there and perform it for you guys!

What is the story behind your artist name?
I don't have a band yet but the meaning behind „Kayla Krystin" is quite personal. Kayla is a nickname of my first name and Krystin is my older sister's name and she means the world to me!

What motivated you to initate your music formally?
I met both my producer and my manager 1.5 years ago and they really believed in me, so we started writing songs together.

What motivates you  most when writing music?
you know, just life experiences in general motivate me to write. It's wanting to share what I've gone through, or am going through, with others, and in doing so maybe helping someone who's going through something similar. Music and lyrics can be someone's lifeline if they hear the right song at the right time.

What artiists are you currently listening to?
At the moment it's Kelsea Ballerini and Chris Stapleton
What or who was your inspiration to go into the music industry?
I've been singing since a very young age so it was always my intention and dream to become a singer and write my own songs.

If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it bie?
Chris stapleton

What is the biggest challenge you have faced in the music industry?
I would say finding a balance between "stage life" and my private life. It's important to find some quiet time to recharge so I can give my best on stage! Also, staying true to myself no matter what external influences come at me. It's easy to fall into self doubt when there's so much going on around you…so I've been working hard on believing in who I am and being a role model as a strong, confident woman in this industry!

What's Next for you?
We are already working on my next singles and album. I'm also practicing the live programme for my upcoming shows with my dancers. And I'm going to Las Vegas together with my team at the end of July to produce the music video for my next single.
